Many of you did not turn in or complete your log sheets this past week.  You will see that reflect in your grade on grade portal.  If you still have your log or if you need to complete it, I will allow this one time chance for you to make any corrections.  Turn in at the end of the week as scheduled and I will make adjustments.

Leadership Article Assignment
Due Date: A day – 9/11 & B day – 9/12
25 points

Directions:
Article assignment must have all components listed below to receive full credit. 

Components:
1.      Choose an article on the topic of Leadership from a credible source and read it completely.  Print out the entire article.   No advertisements will be accepted.
2.      Define the top 10 leadership qualities.
3.      Prepare a (TYPED or written in ink) 2 paragraph summary, of at least 10 sentences, to include the following information:

Summary -at least five FACT sentences about what leadership means to you.  Include the following:
·         Who wrote the article and for what purpose?
·         Describe what leadership means to you.
·         What you feel are the top 10 leadership qualities and why?  (Your top 10 may be different than the author’s top 10.)

Opinion -Second Paragraph, prepare a think/explain (your opinion) of at least 5 sentences about which 3 qualities you possess and why.  Include the following:
·         At least three facts from the article. (you must include the main idea)
·         Your thoughts, feelings, and your own experiences
·         What you learned from the article

Proper Paper Heading:
Head your paper in the right-hand corner with your name, date and period number.
 In the center of the paper in the margin include the following listed below:
-          Article title
-          Author of the article
-          Date of the article
-           Page and section numbers of the article if applicable

Research students will report to the media center/ Coullias or Long. Please remember to sign in or you will be marked absent for the day. Do not sign in for another student or after the tardy bell without a tardy slip from student services. You will have five minutes to report to your area. Please email coulliasa@duvalschools.org or  longd@duvalschools.org if you plan on being absent. Your grade will reflect your participation and unexcused absences will reflect grades.
Have fun and learn each area of the school. Students will be working with teachers in the classroom, technology, athletics, media, textbooks, student services and the front office. You will learn about the Destiny program, textbook checkout, Library/ textbook inventory, school wide technology issues, AV equipment, student services, guidance, athletics and content areas.
Students are not permitted to grade papers or view proprietary information.
Students will work to assist faculty and staff and must wear an ID at all times. The faculty or staff member will assign a  pass that you must use to leave your designated area.
Students can be removed from this class if professionalism or attitude disrupts the overall success of the assigned area.  Please see the media webpage and click on the link to fill in the areas of interest for the year. Mrs. Long and Mrs. Coullias will determine your assigned area for the semester.
